Medardo Monzon
FCHCC Past President 2012 - 2012
Medardo is the Managing Director of an international consulting firm that focuses on leadership and executive team development. He has extensive leadership experience gained during 30 years in the chemicals, plastics, and paper industries. He has held roles such as CEO, general manager, business manager and leader of several functional areas. He has been involved with FCHCC since 2003.

Ed Perez
FCHCC Past President 2011 - 2011
Ed Perez is a Technical Director of IT at CSX. He has been active with the FCHCC since 2008 and it's President during 2011. Ed was part of Mayor Brown's transitional team and is the 2012 Chair of the Mayor Hispanic American Advisory Board. He is a graduate of Leadership Jacksonville class of 2010. He has been recognized numerous times for his commitment to our Northeast Florida Community and International Missions. He was awarded the 2008 Coaching and Inclusion Champion of the Year by CSX. Ed also received the Presidents Volunteer Service Award during 2007.

Betzy Santiago
FCHCC Past President 2010 - 2010
Betzy Santiago is a native of Puerto Rico. Raised in the states, Betzy moved to Jacksonville in 1993 as a newlywed to accompany her husband as he served in the United States Navy. Betzy graduated from the University of North Florida (UNF) with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, she also holds a real estate license, mortgage license in several states, and a Global Mobility Specialist Certification.
Betzy is a results-oriented sales professional with experience in business development, marketing, strategic planning, public relations, key client development and customer service. Currently she is serving as Special Assistant to Mayor Alvin Brown.
She has been an active board member of the First Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for many years and served as President in 2010. She has partnered with the Mayor’s Hispanic American Advisory Board, the Small Business Administration and UNF’s Small Business Development Center, helping students obtain scholarships and small businesses to emerge. This year she also served on the Downtown Revitalization Committee. Betzy has also been a member of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Professional Women’s Council, Northeast Florida Association of Realtors, Leadership Academy at Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) and other volunteer associations. She is a public servant who enjoys exploring ideas, innovative concepts, new markets and products.

Giselle Carson
FCHCC Past President 2008 - 2009
Giselle Carson has been an attorney with Marks Gray, P.A. for over 10 years. She practices in the areas of immigration, litigation and estate planning. She has been an active member of the FCHCC for many years and its Past President in 2008 and 2009. She is also a triathlete and marathoner.

Leon Carrero
FCHCC Past President 2005 - 2007
Leon is a native of Venezuela who has been in the US since 1982 and in 1990 came to Jacksonville. He is past president of FCHCC in 2006-2007 past chair of the Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Board, and graduate of Leadership Jacksonville class of 2003. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Southpoint and incoming President for the 2011-2012 year. He strongly believes in community involvement and helping those less fortunate by promoting education and providing children, at an early age, with all the necessary tools to grow into responsible adults. Hispanics face many challenges when coming to the US with language and lack of good education as the main obstacles to succeed. That is why he has been supporting the Achieving the Dream Scholarship annual luncheon for the last five years where scholarships are provided to students of Hispanic descent. Leon has been married for 15 years to Elizabeth and has 2 sons (13 years old and 10 years old). He is one of the Principals of Aerostar Environmental Services, Inc., an engineering and environmental consulting company headquartered in Jacksonville specializing in Industrial Hygiene, Mold, Asbestos, and remediation of contaminated properties throughout the Southeastern US.
