President's Message - Betzy Santiago
"It only takes one person to change your life - you." Ruth Casey Have you ever considered just what you are capable of? August is back to school month and we want to remind everyone of our "Achieving the Dream" Scholarship. Applications and donations are now being accepted, but time is running out. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to do - finish school and make an impact on your life. Healthcare Reform is bringing about many changes. We would like to thank Academic Dermatology Consultants & Mayo Clinic for a terrific July Professional Mixer. This is a topic that will affect both our personal and business lives. Dr. William Rupp helped us better understand the significance of the what lies ahead and shared with us some real world applications of what that means to me, you, and our employers. We would also like to thank our FCHCC's Program's Committee and III Forks for hosting another successful Chamber Chats. This is a time for members to let their hair down and be themselves: no programs, no agendas - just some good people and good food. Remember this is a Member's Only event. Become a member and join the fun. Last but not least, we have some exciting things planned for August. August is back to Teal Month as well - The Jacksonville Jaguars will be hosting our next meeting. Dates will change, but it promises to be a great event as we partner with our local team. Please review the calendar for more details - we look forward to seeing you there.
Board Member's Message - Carlos Bouvier Films by Design
Hola Querida Comunidad Hispana de Jacksonville, my name is Carlos Bouvier. I was born and raised in Uruguay as the only child of wonderful parents who have unconditionally supported and given me the mental and emotional stability to pursue my dreams.
I arrived in Jacksonville in 1999 and focused on working in the media. My first job was with WJXT/Channel 4 where I became the lead photo journalist. My great career lasted almost a decade and placed me at the front of many big news stories such as: the 9/11 attacks, Hurricane Katrina, and the War in Iraq.
Two years ago, I became a small business owner when I open a video production studio, Films by Design. This is where I found the freedom to unleash my creativity and explore new avenues to communicate with my viewers mostly through documentary productions created to be distributed over the Internet.
I had an unstoppable desire to give back to my community so I joined the Mayor's Hispanic American Advisory Board (MHAAB). After four years with MHAAB, I found my way to the FCHCC. Here I continue my quest and apply my experience in local social issues that I acquired in years past.
Today, I serve as the Co-Chairman of the Public Relations & Communications Committee. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help this incredibly committed organization. FCHCC is working hard to improve our future while raising the bar among our local Hispanic leadership and inspiring other Hispanics in Northeast Florida.
I look forward to continuing to work alongside the wonderful men and women of vision at the FCHCC in our quest to build a better community for us all. Felicidades y mucho éxito para todos, Carlos Bouvier. |

- Respond to all emails within the same business day or within 24 hours. If you can not respond right away, acknowledge the email.
- Allow the receiver to respond before sending a follow up email and group your thoughts into one email.
- Read the email sent to you in its entirety and answer ALL questions when responding.
- Proofread your email for content. Avoid excessive verbiage. Be direct and simply state the information requested/needed.

- Check your tone: Is it helpful, professional, and friendly?
