President's Message - Betzy Santiago
Betzy Santiago"To accomplish great things, we must not only act but also dream. Not only plan but also believe." (-- Anatole France)

Thank you for allowing us to spend the month of January planning and preparing for our exciting new year. Your FCHCC Board and Committee Chairs are full of enthusiasm, ideas and determination to make a difference. Be on the lookout for many opportunities throughout the year of ways you can get involved and get connected.

As we approach our first networking mixer for the year, I want to encourage each of you to begin maximizing this great resource. The networking mixers were designed with you in mind. We aim to educate on topics of interest, update on area happenings, and create an environment where you can meet and build rapport with other members. People like doing business with people they like. In most instances, you must pass the "friend" test before you can pass the "business" test. I encourage each of you to make at least THREE new friends at the next networking mixer. The object should not be to collect business cards, but rather to increase levels of comfort and trust. FCHCC provides a non-threatening environment for you to start establishing these relationships. Take advantage of the opportunity and let's have a profitable new year!

Board Member's Message - Zsuzsanna Rivera
empty photo boxI feel very honored and humbled to introduce myself as your new 2010 Membership Director of the FCHCC. My name is Zsuzsanna Rivera, and I come from a multicultural family. I was born and raised in Havana, Cuba before moving to Hungary at age 9. While in Hungary, I graduated from the Vocational School of Economics Branch of Administration. My family and I then moved to Key West, Florida in 1993, where I started my banking career.

Today, I work for Synovus Bank of Jacksonville as a branch manager, where we offer our customers the strength and resources of a large financial company with the high-quality service you expect from a community bank. I would be honored to have the opportunity to help you and your business with all of your financial needs.

My husband of 13 years, Moises and I have seen tremendous growth within the Hispanic population since moving to Jacksonville in 1998. I have always been proud of my heritage, and wanting to be closer to the Hispanic Community. I joined FCHCC in 2008. From the very first networking meeting I attended, I've felt very welcomed by every member of our organization and can wholeheartedly say that it has been and continues to be a very rewarding and fulfilling experience.

I encourage everyone to continue making a difference in our community by staying involved with FCHCC and volunteering in one of our many committees. Let's all continue spreading the goodness of this organization and recruiting new members!
