President's Message - Betzy Santiago

No Limits: Progress, Expansion and
a Higher Calling Embrace the second decade of the
21st Century! I'm honored to be serving as your 2010 First Coast
Hispanic Chamber of Commerce president. To date, we have had innumerous
opportunities. As we enter into a new year, I'm excited at what lies ahead. Ronald
Reagan once said that "There are no great limits to growth because there are no
limits of human intelligence, imagination, and wonder."
My theme for this year is one that
focuses on our abilities, our perseverance and our intentionality to build on
what we have already started. The foundation has been established. 2010 will be
a year to progress, expand, and rise to our higher calling.
The FCHCC is fortunate to have a
strong core of committed volunteers who share my passion in seeing our
organization prosper. Your 2010 Leadership Team is a team of devoted
individuals who daily give of themselves and who genuinely care. I
encourage you to get motivated, get connected and get involved.
Remember that it is the small daily changes we make that over time add up to map
big differences. Let's have a
spectacular year!
Help me thank your 2010 Leadership
Team:

Board Member's Message - Angela Tharp
With every new year comes an opportunity of looking back, getting organized, and re-energized! 2009 was a rollercoaster of emotions and uncertainty. The nation as a whole felt uneasy. These are times that teach us all how important it is to stay focused, be grateful for what we have, and take the opportunity to give back to our community. I feel very positive about being a part of the FCHCC Board of Directors as the new Treasurer. I am honored to be a part of this great organization.
I've lived in Jacksonville since 1990 moving here with my husband Randy from South Florida. I graduated from UNF with a Finance degree in 1993. Three days before attending the graduation ceremony, I gave birth to my oldest son and were blessed again with another son in 1996. I have worked in different areas of real estate for many years and my career has never been boring and I've been very fortunate to be doing well in a tough market. I've been a member of the FCHCC for several years; started networking with different Hispanic business owners and local industry leaders. Later, I joined the Membership Committee which is a very special committee and are the "front line" of the FCHCC as they each care about making you feel welcomed. The sentiment is echoed throughout the organization in all its endeavors. May all your lives be enriched in the new year as mine has been by being a member of the FCHCC!
